Plaintiff suffered second and third degree burns over sixty percent of her body when her SUV flipped on the side and came skidding to a stop on the freeway. The vehicle burst into flames. Plaintiff's sister was killed in the fire when the vehicle came to rest and before rescue. Defendants claimed plaintiff lost control of the vehicle because she was inattentive. Plaintiff's claim is that the vehicle was not stable and made it more prone to rollover and that the aftermarket gas cap leaked causing the fire injuries. There were four different defendants that contributed to the settlement.
